Dr. Fred Swann
Co-Founder of Integral Energetics
Bsc – Clinical Science, BSc (Chiropractic)
Network Spinal Analysis Practitioner, Chiropractor
Dr Fred Swann is the founder of Integral Energetics and has been in clinical practice for over 26 years.
Fred’s work grew out of a simple but profound question: what allows real, lasting change to occur?
After graduating as a Chiropractor from RMIT in 2000 and working professionally in Australia and Singapore, he began to notice that the most meaningful transformations were not driven by effort, correction, or force — but by shifts within the nervous system itself.
This insight shaped the direction of his life’s work. Over the following decades, Fred undertook an extensive exploration of nervous system regulation, emotional integration, stress physiology, and the relationship between consciousness and the human energy field. Central to this inquiry has been more than 15 years of study in Network Spinal Analysis, through which he achieved certification at the highest level in 2004.
In 2015, Fred joined with Dr John Hare at Tree of Life in Kew, where together they co-created Integral Energetics — a comprehensive training and development pathway for those seeking to understand the human being through a coherent, integrated model. Drawing from Integral Theory, Anthroposophy, Neuropsychology, and traditional contemplative traditions, Integral Energetics brings together experiential learning and theoretical understanding, culminating in practitioner training for those wishing to deepen their professional skills.
Fred’s clinical work is informed by a wide range of complementary studies, including Biofeedback and Neurofeedback, Somato-Respiratory Integration, Mindfulness, Neurolinguistic Programming, Semantics, Psychedelic-Assisted Psychotherapy, Awakened Mind EEG-assisted meditation training, personal coaching, and conflict resolution. Rather than applying techniques in isolation, he weaves these disciplines together into an approach that supports self-sufficiency, resilience, and sustainable change.
In addition to his private practice, Fred works as a speaker, presenter, and educator, delivering training and development programs for organisations in the areas of health, stress management, and nervous system resilience. His teaching style is relaxed, relatable, and deeply grounded in lived experience.
Fred has a particular interest in stress and its far-reaching effects on both mind and body. His work combines a comprehensive physical appraisal — informed by over two decades as a chiropractor — with an integrative understanding of how mental and emotional patterns shape physiology and wellbeing.
Beyond his clinical and teaching roles, Fred has spent considerable time offering his professional services as a volunteer, working with children in Thailand in a healing and recovery capacity. This work led to his involvement on the board of Not For Sale Australia, a not-for-profit organisation committed to ending human slavery in our lifetime.
Today, Fred’s work reflects decades of careful listening — not only to symptoms, but to the subtle patterns held within the spine, nervous system, and field. He is known for his calm, grounded presence and his ability to guide people through deep transformation in a way that feels safe, respectful, and sustainable.
Integral Energetics emerged from this work as a way of supporting the whole human system — body, mind, and consciousness — to return to its natural state of coherence, adaptability, and ease.
Dr. John Hare
Co-Founder of Integral Energetics
BSc (Chiropractic)
Network Spinal Analysis Practitioner, Chiropractor
Dr John Hare is a chiropractor, educator, and co-founder of Tree of Life, an inner-city sanctuary in Kew created as a space where people can rest, recalibrate, and heal.
John graduated from RMIT as a Chiropractor and went on to explore a wide range of chiropractic and integrative modalities, including Network Spinal Analysis (NSA), Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT), Somato-Respiratory Integration (SRI), and Bio-Geometric Integration (BGI). Alongside his clinical training, John’s curiosity naturally extended into the philosophical foundations of healing, leading him to study The Philosophy of Science at Melbourne University.
This blend of clinical precision and philosophical inquiry continues to shape John’s work. He has undertaken further studies in therapeutic approaches such as Psychophonetics and Psychological Kinesiology (Psych-K), as well as wisdom traditions including esoteric Christianity, all of which inform his understanding of the human being as a deeply interconnected system of body, mind, energy, and meaning.
In founding Tree of Life, John envisioned a place that offered more than treatment — a space that could function as a refuge from the pace of modern life, where nervous systems could settle and deeper processes of healing could unfold. At the heart of his work is a strong interest in how our thoughts, habitual beliefs, and inner narratives shape our physiology, health, and life trajectories.
John is particularly committed to supporting people to develop coherence within their energetic fields, understanding this coherence not as an end in itself, but as a resource. From this inner stability, people are better able to make their unique contributions — to their families and friendships, to creative work, to professional environments, and to the communities they belong to.
John’s presence is often described as thoughtful, steady, and reflective. His work invites people into greater self-awareness, personal responsibility, and alignment, supporting change that is both meaningful and sustainable.
